Language Summer Camps in Lancaster County, PA
Your Language Connection (YLC) offers language summer camps for children and youth ages 4 and older. Half-day summer camps are available in many different languages, and include songs, games and cultural awareness activities. YLC has paired up with other camps to offer a full-day camp option, from 9am 4pm. If you have any questions concerning these summer camps, you may reach us through our contact page.
All 2010 summer camps are located at Lancaster Country Day School, 725 Hamilton Road, Lancaster, PA 17603.
Spanish Camp (ages 4 and older)
Offerings:
- 9am 12pm
Age Groups: 4 to 7 and 7 to 11 - 1pm 4pm
Age Groups: 7 to 11 and 12 and older

Details:
Children learn common vocabulary, make something fun to take home each week, sing songs, play games, and practice mini-dialogues. New units each week. A short presentation of what they have learned is given the last day of camp.
Language Camp (ages 4 and older)

Details:
Children will learn some common, useful vocabulary such as greetings, travel vocabulary, personal information, likes and dislikes. They will make something fun to take home each week, sing songs, play games, and practice mini-dialogues.
Kids and Cultures Camp
(Campers Must Have Completed 1st Grade)

Details:
Get ready for a week of stories, music, crafts, games, snacks, and guests from other countries! Campers visit a different country each day, create their own travel scrapbooks and receive a Kids and Cultures Camp t-shirt.

Arts & Crafts Around the World (ages 4 and older)

Details:
Join us in July to take A trip around the world via art and craft projects. This class offers children ages 4 and older hands on multicultural lessons that make learning fun. Each lesson will include background information on an art or craft which is native to a specific country. The children will make individual projects modeled after the original work. Plan to see fresh ideas and varied techniques applied to the projects your child takes home daily.
Making Music (ages 4 and older)

Details:
Children have a natural instinct for rhythm and easily memorize songs of many languages. In this unique camp, children will experience music and instruments of other cultures, as well as music written for children through the ages. They will explore, learn, and apply the basics of rhythm and melody for a variety of music. Campers will sing, compose, and play music. Educational and at the same time enjoyable, world music is a unique and cheerful tool to engage children in learning about and celebrating diversity.
Registration and Fees
Half-day camp
- Early Registration (February 1 to March 15): $135 per child, $125 for each additional child in the same family or $125 when registering for more than one week.
- Regular Registration (March 16 to May 15): $165 per child, $150 for each additional child in the same family or $150 when registering for more than one week.
- Late Registration (May 16 and after, if room): $200 per child, $175 for each additional child in the same family or $175 when registering for more than one week.
Full-day camp
- Early Registration (February 1 to March 15): $250 per child, $235 for each additional child in the same family or $235 when registering for more than one week.
- Regular Registration (March 16 to May 15): $275 per child, $250 for each additional child in the same family or $250 when registering for more than one week.
- Late Registration (May 16 and after, if room): $300 per child, $275 for each additional child in the same family or $235 when registering for more than one week.
- Materials and snack included.
- Students must bring a lunch for full day camps.
Bring a new friend*
to camp and get an additional $15 discount for you AND your friend. Offer good until May 15.
*Never attended any of the camps.
To reserve your child(ren)s space, please send a non-refundable deposit of $50 per child registered within two weeks of registering (or you may pay the entire amount at this time). The balance of the registration fee is due by May 16, 2010. A late fee of $15 will be added if the balance is not received by May 16, 2010.
Cancellation/Refund
If your registered child(ren) is unable to attend Camp, notify us immediately in writing. If you cancel by May 16, 2010, a full refund (less the deposit) will be issued in the form of a credit for a future Camp session. There will be no refunds/credits issued after May 16, 2010, except in the case of an emergency.
